His connection with Saint Louis University has been longstanding. He received his teaching appointment in the Department of Orthodontics in 1982 and currently holds the position of Professor of Orthodontics (adjunct). He teaches the Saint Louis University Tweed-Merrifield Technique Course, a technique used by thousands of orthodontists worldwide.
His experience as an educator has allowed him to share what he has learned over the last 30 years with orthodontists around the world, having traveled several times to Brazil and Taiwan. His most recent trip to the People's Republic of China took him to the orthodontic departments of Peking University in Beijing and Jiao Tong University in Shanghai where he lectured. His love for teaching has also allowed him to serve on the Teaching Staff of the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation for Orthodontic Research in Tucson, Arizona. Here, twice a year, over 125 orthodontists from around the world come together and learn the latest in orthodontic techniques.
Dr. Taeger is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church of America. He has held the positions of Teaching Leader in Bible Study Fellowship International and both Teaching Director and Area Director in Community Bible Study for many years. Both he and his wife attend Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church. They are both very proud parents of their three grown daughters and five grandchildren. In his spare time, Dr. Taeger loves to work on his computer, fish, play golf, and read a good book.
